How it works

The quiz keeps four things separate: your strengths, the work that interests you, what is practical in your life, and the settings where you want to participate.

Strengths

This section uses the public-domain 96-item IPIP-VIA-R. Each of its 24 strengths has four statements, including two reverse-scored items.

Diffrint uses plain-language names such as `Cultural Imagination` and `Security Sense`. The original scale names remain visible in the full results.

Roles

Diffrint's 13 roles are based on concrete tasks. They overlap because real projects do too. A distribution effort may need logistics, coordination, access, outreach, and care at the same time. Scores describe interest, not worth, experience, or permission to do specialized work.

Capacity and availability

This section asks about transportation, physical tasks, schedule, notice, communication, equipment, environment, and support needs. Money, mobility, free time, and access to a car are not treated as merit. The answers help separate an appealing role from one that is workable right now.

Exposure

The colors describe participation settings. They are not a bravery scale.

For each setting, you can choose `Works for me now`, `Only with preparation`, `Does not work for me`, or `Not sure`. Higher exposure is never treated as a better result or a suggestion to take that risk.

Interpretation

The browser combines the sections you selected into a practical summary. Unselected sections are left unknown rather than guessed. The result is meant to suggest realistic first moves, not judge employability, politics, courage, or personal worth.

Privacy and saving

Scoring happens in the browser. Device saving stays on that device. Optional email saving creates a private recovery link and stores the email address, quiz state, and a hash of the link token for up to two weeks of inactivity. Results are emailed only when requested. Lab uses no advertising, analytics, or third-party scoring scripts.
